About Me
Hi, great to have you here. My name is Devin William Siegfried and I am a game designer. I studied game design engineering in college, which allowed me to take part in a multitude of game design projects that are showcased in this portfolio, along with some game jams and side projects. I have a passion for designing game mechanics and seeing them come to life. After graduating, I've had the wonderful opportunity to get involved in AAA development with High Voltage Software, where I'm currently still working.
My whole life has pretty much been centered around games. From a very young age my consoles were my best friends. By age 11 I got competitively involved in esports with Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Every time I would go to a family gathering all people would ask me about is what I want to be when I grow up, and I always had an answer prepared: I want to make games. At the time I had no idea what went into the process, but that didn't mean I was ever going to go back on that statement or regret it.
Now I spend a majority of my free time doing the exact same as I did many times before, engrossing myself in games and their culture. My experience in playing games competitively (FPS and MOBA) gave me an urge to understand game mechanics better and how to better utilize the tools I was given in an environment. I believe that this contributed heavily towards my decision to go into the field, and ultimately is one of my greatest assets. Beyond that I am a big fan of watching others play their favorite game to the fullest. Whether it's speedrunning or fighting games, I spend as much time as I possibly can getting to know these games in and out through different perspectives.
A roguelike game made for a class. I primarily worked on enemy functionality, reward logic, and room generation. I also handled documenting, asset importing, some team leadership, and a LOT of bugfixing.
Made for a one week long game jam. I made the level, models, animations, and menu logic, along with the mandatory load of bug fixing.

A first person horde defense game made for a class. I worked on UI functionality, reward and gameplay mechanics, the skill tree, and health/damage systems.
