Skill Builders
Projects that I've worked on to learn more about game engines, design processes, and anything generally related to video game production.
Iterative Design
A series of paper draft and whitebox iterations that show a part of my thought process in designing a space as well as being open to feedback and going back to the drawing board. These map designs were for a collect-a-thon platformer class project. The paper drafts and a portion of the whitebox were made by me while working in a design team of 3 people.
Documenting
Following the game iterations of the last section, these are documents that track the requests made by various teams for this project, as well as the feedback and goals to shoot for in both gameplay and level designs. Obsessively tracking information and keeping it compiled somewhere is a habit of mine that has paid in dividends.
Construct
A class project covering the process of getting a full concept draft made for a design document and eventually presenting on it.

Free Fall Cabal
A class project showcasing the design process for a physical game, including game balancing and paper concepting.
Gained experience in designing a card game as well as working under a strict schedule for deliverables.
I worked on general card design, balance, and game mechanics.

Takeaways
Gaining knowledge of these processes, even if only a little, has been extremely helpful in understanding what goes into making a game. My ability to work with my peers and weigh the positives and negatives of a decision has grown leaps and bounds due to these projects, even if I'm not personally proud of the end results. These were all important stepping stones in learning how to fail, improvise, and eventually, succeed.
